UFC-veteranen Antonio ”Bigfoot” Silva är klar för sinkickboxningsdebut (!) då han tar sig an mästaren Rico Verhoeven på GLORY 46.
37-årige Bigfoot, som bara har en vinst på sina tio senaste MMA-matcher, släpptes från UFC förra året och har sedan dess hunnit förlora två matcher i olika organisationer.

Hans manager, Alex Davis, erkänner nu att matchningen med toppkickboxaren Verhoeven – som inte har förlorat på två och ett halvt år – är riktigt tuff för Silva. Det uppger han för MMAjunkie.
“Obviously, it’s not a good fight for ’Bigfoot, jumping right into (GLORY) to go against the current champ, who’s a murderer? Yeah, we get it,” säger Davis.

”Kan inte skydda någon mot sig själv”
Davis säger att Silva var tvungen att ta matchen för att han behöver pengarna – men om det vore upp till honom skulle matchen aldrig ha bokats.
“And also he needs money,” säger Davis. ”He can’t turn down fights at the moment for that reason. If it was up to me, he would not take this fight. But at the end of the day, my job is to inform him, give him my advice, and the one who has to make the final decision is him.
“I’ll be very sincere and tell you, I can’t defend a man from himself. If he fights and doesn’t manage his money, he’ll go looking for the next fight. This is a very common problem with many fighters, not just ‘Bigfoot.’”
Bigfoot har på senare tid gått igenom hjärntester och ska inte ha några problem överhuvudtaget:
“He has no brain damage,” säger Davis. ”We’ve done extensive research and testing, even before he left the UFC. So he’s OK on that end.”
GLORY 46 tar plats i Guangzhou, Kina den 14 oktober.
