UFC:s tungviktsmästare Stipe Miocic håller stenkoll på den potentiella supermatchen i boxning mellan UFC-superstjärnan Conor McGregor och Floyd Mayweather. Anledningen är att Miocic själv är sugen på en professionell boxningsmatch – mot tungviktsmästaren i boxning Anthony Joshua. Det uppger han på The MMA Hour:
“If the fight happens, me against Joshua would be a great fight,” sade Miocic. “I think I’d surprise a lot of people, I think it’d be an amazing fight … let’s do it! He’s a great guy. He’s tough, he’s a champion for a reason. I think I’d give him a run for his money.”

Miocic, som är tidigare Golden Gloves-mästare i boxning i Cleveland, tror inte heller att han skulle ha några problem att ge Joshua en match i ringen.

Miocic tog hem sin femte raka knockout-seger för några veckor sedan då han avslutade Junior dos Santos i den första ronden i huvudmatchen på UFC 211. Han fullbordade därmed sitt andra lyckade titelförsvar sedan han besegrade Fabricio Werdum för mästartiteln på UFC 198 den 14 maj 2016.
Obesegrade Joshua (19-0 boxning) vann nyligen sin nittonde raka knockout-seger mot Vladimir Klitschko på Wembley, och plockade därmed hem WBA och IBO:s tungviktstitlar. Den 27-årige engelsmannen tog OS-guld i supertungvikt på hemmaplan i London 2012.
