Cristiane Cyborg kommer att heja på Bethe Correia i hennes match mot titelhållaren Ronda Rousey. Cyborg tror också att hon kommer att möta Rousey före hennes karriär är över.
Cristiane ”Cyborg” Justino (13-1-1NC) och Ronda Rousey (11-0) har aldrig varit några bra vänner då de bådar tävla om epitetet största kvinnliga mma-fighter genom tiderna. De tävlar i olika viktklasser och i olika organisationer vilket lett till att supermatchen aldrig blivit av. Rousey kommer härnäst att möta Bethe Correia (9-0) på UFC 190 och Cyborg är tydlig i en intervju med att hon hoppas Correia knockar Rousey:

”I will root for Bethe, I hope she knocks Ronda out. Bethe deserves the opportunity and she has to trust her hands, which are very strong. She also needs to practice takedown defense and look for the knockout. Ronda has never been hit in the face, she doesn’t know what that is. She has only faced girls who couldn’t hit her. She will try to grapple Bethe, there is no other way. Bethe has to believe in her gameplan.”
Den första supermatchen i kvinnliga mma var mellan Cyborg och Gina Carano (7-1). Nu när Rousey växt fram som en stjärna är Cyborg fast bestämd att även denna supermatchen mot Rousey kommer att ske före hon hänger handskarna på hyllan:
”Everybody wants to see that fight, it’s very important for women’s MMA. I want to be a part of it. The first big fight I had was against Gina Carano and I’m happy it happened. When I finish my career, I will say I fought Carano and Rousey in big organizations. It will be fun, my fans and family will be happy.”
Om någon supermatch mellan Cyborg och Rousey någonsin kommer ske kan man bara vänta och se. I nuläget tävlar Cyborg i Invicta och går nästa match i helgen mot Faith Van Duin (5-1).
