To the surprise of some observers, a loud majority of the attendees at the UFC: Unstoppable press event today were solidly in the corner of former light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones when it came to his vocal rivalry with current champion Daniel Cormier.
Fans repeatedly and vigorously booed Cormier when he spoke about the upcoming title fight, scheduled for UFC 197 on April 23, and when he referred to Jones “entitled attitude.” The two may have the worst case of bad blood in the UFC and Cormier has been an outspoken critic of Jones’ behavior inside and outside of the Octagon. In April of 2015, Jones fled the scene of an accident and was subsequently arrested. This, coupled with a previous DUI charge and a positive post-fight test for cocaine led the UFC to strip the New York native of his belt.
