Tateki Matsuda vs Joby Sanchez
HETAST JUST NU
The round stars and already you can see a size difference between the two, but Matsuda continues to use perfect Muay Thai. Everything from kicks to elbows he is perfectly utalizing the science of 8 limbs. This leaves Sanchez throwing one punch at a time. Around 2 minutes in Sanchez lands his first significant strike with a kick to the body. 20 seconds later sanchez puts all his weight into a punch and drops Matsuda. Mastoid is down but instantly kicks Sanchez away and fights to get back up. After a little scuffle on the ground, nothing thrown they are back to their feet. Matsuda back to his strength but now aware that Sanchez has power in the small moments the shots get through. Mated drops him but Sanchez gets off his but and they are back in the center. Sanchez bleeding from his mouth but moving in and out. Ten seconds to go and they throw everything, punches and knee’s and elbows fly at each other like cartoons fighting.
Round 2. Sanchez corner must have reminded him this isn’t a kickboxing match and he goes for the clinch and wrestles Matsuda down. They are there briefly before Matsuda is back up. You can watch in Sachez’s body that while he is still in the fight, he isn’t as fresh as he was. They stay on the outside and pick each other off Matsuda is showing to his credit, great cardio and great composure as he continues to work his game no matter what Sanchez tries. Sanchez throws wild but Matsuda moves and counters. Sanchez is going for diving in punches but Matsuda still has a high guard, hands up, perfect technique from the Sityogun(spelling) fighter. Sanchez still throwing what he can though, all his shots are hard. He might get punched 3-4 times but for each one he lands it’s the same damage. Sanchez isn’t as aggressive as he circles around but then mixes it up in the pocket. 10 seconds left and they end the round with the crowd clapping happily. These men want to end it when they can. It’s a good fight so far. Heading into round 3.
Round 3.
The highlight showed Matsuda’s insane ability to slip and punch while landing one, Sanchez is a tough cookie as he stays in. Both men come out wanting to win and trade jabs. Sanchez catches him coming in again and Matsuga is starting to break. Sanchez with a high kick but that stud Matsuda just leans out of the way. Still fighting in the center these guys should be main card. Matsuda catches him with a hook that makes Sanchez think. Sanchez feeds him and uppercut and Matsuda just eats it. Now they are circling catching a break. Sanchez is on fire now, shots getting threw, Matsuda stays in there. Fights back but shots are landing. Sanchez drops him, Matsuda stays in there. Sanchez is looking to get his hooks in, feeling for the choke but Matsuda spins and gets out. Sanchez shows ground techniques that make me wonder why he didn’t grapple more. There up and people are cheering. These are fights that prelims normally don’t see. Sanchez is alivee now, moving on his man but Matsuda is game. Sanchez shoots and gets him down. Matsuda is tying him up. Sanchez moving for a dominate position and Matsuda the studd see’s the opportunity and stands. Most people would have road this fight out with the guy in his guard. Matsuda wanted it up. 10 seconds to go and while it doesn’t end in fireworks. These studs fought. Both should be back again. That was heart and Muay Thai and everyone sitting around me is talking about nothing else but that fight.
The decision is coming but the reply shows both of them putting it on the line. Sanchez came alive in round 3 and that might seal the deal. He was outstruck in 1 and 2. But like I said, for every 3 that Matsuda landed. 1 Sanchez equaled it.
And after the scores, split decision. Joey Sanchez wins. Some people cheer, some people boo and both have the right too.
IN BETWEEN FIGHT OBSERVATIONS.
Going into the next fight I made friends with the locals. Boston is a great city and they are happy to hear me tell them. I’m now being absolutely pummeled by UFC commercials for cell phones and video games and I’m listening to the loudest techno heavy metal music I’ve ever heard in my life. Based on the crowd, if Conor loses, I’m going to escape through a manhole cover in the ground because there are Irish flags flying and people drinking and I don’t want to be on the wrong side of that. Judging by the cost of beer here, and how many I see in the hands of people, I’d say the Boston TD Garden has made about two hundred thousand euro in the last twenty minutes. And the music picks up, and the fights will start soon.
Sean O’Connel vs Matt Van Buren
Sean is walking out to what I’m assuming is the music he tries to bang chicks too. It’s an odd choice. It’s not a slow jam or whatever that’s called, but it’s not far. Girls are dancing so, I guess if that’s his goal, mission accomplished buddy, mission accomplished.
Matt comes out to gangsta rap and it makes me wonder whatever happen to instruments, you know, that people like me listen to. And right away I have to think, he is a tall drink of water. Standing next to the cage his head sticks over the top.
Sean and Matt, sorry if this is late, but had a computer issue. Round 2 w them, right now, Matt is picking him apart with reach but Sean is working his way in to land one strike at a time. Sean is showing the cardio that someone with a jelly belly has and is tired going into the second. Matt is picking him apart with shots and while it’s not breaking Sean, he is getting beat. Matt landed a knee to the body and I’m surprised Sean took it. Oh poop Sean hits him and slows him down but all of Sean’s shots are large and looping. Matt doesn’t know what else to do and foolishly clinches with Sean. Sean has him in his corner and is landing small punches as he holds the big man close. They separate and Sean is down a mouth piece. He gets it back and continues his hunting of the big man. Sean is fighting but his style doesn’t help brain cells. Sean closes the distance with the head down run at them swinging approach.
Round 3. Jermery Horn in the corner of Sean who is hanging in there, he should have told him I’ve found 5000 times, stop getting punched so much. Sean is still getting hit but driving like crazy with big punches. One lands and it puts the big Matt fella down. He takes some punches as he fights to get back to his feet. He’s back up but his hands are down and he’s just getting punches as he tries to slowly walk straight backwards. Sean goes with him and punches until the referee stops the fight.
Sean O by TKO
Good fight, Sean says something nice to his family after the loss of a family member, but things are getting back on track. He credits Jeremy for hard training and says he can take more damage, which, isn’t a good career move.
Charles Rosa vs Sean Soriano
Sean Soriano is walking out and cussing out…. no one. But who ever he is speaking to, is getting a slew of cusswords. How people get psyched up is always interesting to me. I do it with cookies and crying. I cry if I don’t eat them and I cry if I eat to many, much like Sean and the ghost he is cussing out, it’s a love hate relationship. The score of an American Football game is shown over the big screen and the crowd cheers louder than they did for the last two fights.
Oh lord Rosa comes out blasting techno and this b*tch just became a race. He’s cussing out the same invisible man. That invisible guy is apparently a jerk.
The crowd is in it now, cheering because we are on the air now and with that the production value went up. The crowd is with Rosa, I imagine the nickname Boston strong has something to do with that.
Rosa takes the Karate stance and they circle throwing shots. Karate Rosa continues to throw kicks from the outside while Swan stands his ground. And they are down from a foolish take down and secnds later Sean has Rosa in a nice triangle. Rosa is hanging in there but he is trying to land the occasional shot instead of defend. Position before submission my friend, it’s seeping in. And he’s out. And they are up. Both missing shots and whoever is in row 38 continues to just scream. I don’t know what, but she is just screaming non stop. I should go see if they’ve being attacked because it’s outrageous. The beer must be flowing. Sean lands the first hard shot of the fight, a leg kick to Rosa’s lead leg. Sean is using great movement avoiding shots and then landing some. Sean is starting to edge head. Rosa grabs a leg and just misses getting stuck in a choke. The woman up there continues to scream. Rosa is starting to get caught, comes in hands down and Sean blast him a fgew times. Rosa stands stuns and takes a few shots before he decides to move. Knee from clinch for Rosa. Rosa is trying for a single and gets sprawled on in the last 10 seconds. As of now, my vote goes for Sean.
Okay, going into round 2 Charles Rosa better have a new plan, as the last didn’t work and it seems like people in the stands want him to win. The woman, she still screams, I imagine light headed now. Sean is catching him more and more, a one two straight down the center. They trade jbs. Both just throwing single or double ppunch combinations. Sean gets Charles down with a double, starts to let him up then changes his mind and dives at him. Charles looked for an arm but had nothing and he back rolls his way to his feet. Sean misses a nasty knee and now Charles is finding his way with the submission world. He’s looking for a knee bar, then heel hook now he is trying to pull one arm in the party. He gets it, the arm gets left in the party and he rolls Sean to the ground for the armbar. The elbow is out but Charles is trying to suck it back in. He abandons the submission and goes for position ending up in side control. Sean pushes him off for a moment and they are back down Side control for Charles, then full mount, Sean wants out but rolls and gives up his back. Both hooks in for Charles… and…. and someone next to me is smoking weed. Buddy, now it’s a party. They’re back up. Sean trying to fish for a double. Nothing, but Charles is slopping and leave shis hands down as they back away, Sean barely misses a punch. They scramble again and Charles in the last ten seconds slaps on a pervian neck tie. It looked nice and the guy sitting behind me is apparently an expert explaining why it didn’t land.
Round 2.
Both look equally tired but there hands are up the moment they walk towards each other. Sean getting the better of strikes then shoots for some odd reason. It does nothing. Sean starting to really push the things in his favor with the strikes. Charles is getting picked apart, then Sean goes for a knee from clinch, it misses so he very strangely just lays backward pulling the guy who is much better on the ground directly on top of him. Its something that win or lose he will have to look back and say, that was plum stupid. Charles capatilizes and gets back position. One hook in, but Sean stands and lets him fall over the top of him. Charles opes to catch a sliding arm bar but misses. Seconds later, Sean leaves an Arm in the party again and gets it stuck. It’s deep and he just pile drives Charles down to escape. It’s not pretty or technical, but it works. Charles keeps him on the ground though and looks for a good position, doesn’t land in one and now they are back up. Sean is landing knees and punche and they fight from clinch. BAM Charles lands a double. Hes on his back again and Sean turtles, he’s tired but he hasn’t broken him. Charles is fishing for an Anaconda choke. AND THE SCORE COMES OVER THE BIG SCREEN AND PEOPLE CHEER MORE FOR THAT THEN THE FIGHT. What happend. I don’t know, I was watching the screen and will have to wait for the reply.
I know charles one, and it was with what looks like an arm in gullitone/anaconda choke. He’ll forever think the loud cheers were for the finish, but we will know different. We know the truth. But, from side control Charles caught him with an arm in and starting chocking, instead of rolling over he trapped a leg and cranked down. Sean apparently not good and holding his breath for a minute and being folded choose to tap.
Darce choke. Sorry, I’m an idiot.
IN BETWEEN!
You’ll be happy to know that 4 very attractive girls with blonde hair are here in yellow shirts and waving the swedish flag are here. Currently they are getting more attention than Joe Rogan.
BAHAHAHAHA It took exactly 8 seconds for the UFC camera’s to find them and they are now going to be in your eyeballs inverted for your brain to correct the image and reverse and then you watching at home in HD will say, yeah, they are pretty. Or at least from me 20 meters away, the camera wisely pans around them in a 180 degree arc. And the viewship just went up and some guy on youporn just typed in, ”Swedish Porn” because, why not.
Johnny Case vs Frankie Perez
Perez out of NJ is coming to the ring first with the greatest possible song. That Suavementa song that I’m sure every latin in here is dancing too. Across from me someone is wearing a sparkly jacket normally reserved for pimps. Perez laughs about his entrance song and runs in. Now Case who is Irish comes in with Red Hot Chili Peppers and I’m happier with life now, even if there is a person with a pimp jacket across from me.
Both fighters came to the cage happy, laughing, giving big hugs and smiles to their teammates. This is a great sign, when people are nice and relaxed I’m going to go out and say good fights are bond to happen.
Round 1 is starting and the Perez smile is gone, but the Case smile remains. Maybe that’s why they call him Hollywood, I smile a lot but no one calls me that. And I’m an actor. So, something is wrong here. They touch and are in the center throwing hard kicks. The press guys next to me continue to talk about fighting while it’s happening right in front of them, but that’s what dudes do. Little strikes here and there and Perez gets Case down. Case is relaxed, Case is back up and now they are down, but Case is on top this time. Perez works from the ground and Case lands some elbows to the open midsection. Perez zips around and gets full guard, he seen a kimura for a second and it disappeared as Case sene his flailed elbow too. Case stands and tries to land punches, misses one tries gain and gets it. Perez ties up his arms and the guy in front of me, doesn’t shut up but alas, the fight goes on. Case lands short elbows to the moving Perez. Case tosses Perez down and starts landing Standing ground and pound. Hard, body and head shots. Then Stops as Perez looks for the upkick that cost his Frankie Edgar his belt against Benson. They’re standing again landing single kicks. Perez looks winded compared to Case and that being relaxed thing is working in Case’s favor. Round 1 over, Case is winning. I shouldn’t be biased. But, it’s true.
Round 2. People sat next to me, they know people down the isle. They are talking about it, I’m not involved in 5 different people’s lives. Perez is looking to land hard shots but is getting snagged by Case when he lunches in. Nothing hard, but enough to keep each other at bay. Perez is off balance, he stubled at the end of last round and he stumbled off a missed punch here. He is trying though, he is throwing his shots but just took a step back to regroup. He throws a high kick and Case smiles at it. Perez dives for a take down and misses it, but spins for a knee bar. It looked bad but Case pounds his way out it. Half guard for Perez. Case drives with a wizzer and has him in side control. They are back up but with Case holding on Perez from behind. The weight is silly to hold to Perez goes to a knee to turn into Case. Against the cage Perez is slowly starting to break. Case has his arms on a kimura against the fence and even when they stand he holds onto it. Perez punches his way out of it. Case jabs him in the face and Perez does another diving take down going to a leg. He forgets leg locks leave you wide open and eats and elbow. He lets go immediately and recomposes a full guard. Perez is trying to get his legs high as he looks for Kimura’s and armbars but now he is just trying to stall case. He goes for a hip bump sweep and it goes no where as Case moves with him. 10 seconds to go and nothing much happens.
The replay shoes a few punches land for Case but the crowd in general seems disinterested in the fight. A man is stumbling around trying to give up his seat that is actually someone else’s. Round 3 starts and they are pickign at each other. Case is landing. Case is landing hard and Perez is backing up. The guy next to me spilled half of his cider beer and the guy behind me is cheering for the fight by saying, ”get in that ass” so, that’s happening. They are on the ground and Perez was trying to choke but Case bull dozes forward for full mount and now takes his back. Perez spins into him, but then gives up full mount. At which point Case is sick of this and just starts landing punches and solid elbows until the referee jumps in. Case stayed calm and slowly broke him, he seen the chance and made it happen. Tough dude, slower fight but a good one either way. Case by TKO.
IN BETWEEN ROUNDS!
I just seen Conor’s mom. She’s here and if I were fighting I don’t think my mom would come, so there support. People recognize her as she is now getting fan photo’s. I overheard the way the guy behind me explain the last fight and I think the literacy in America slipped down another notch. And I die inside. I think Sweden is 100% literate. Good, teach us how to do that, because I think we are like 17th or something. Well, probably 18th now after listening to that guy.
Patrick Holohan vs Shane Howell
Shane can beat me up, I know that and I accept it. But that doesn’t change the fact that he looks like an extra from the show breaking bad. He’s relaxed, his song is okay and I of course want him to perform to the best of his ability, but that doesn’t change me being a jerk and passing judgements on appearances for a cheap laugh. He;s got a wall of a crowd against him. No one booed but with Patrick coming out, he is hearing some loud cheering for the Irish.
Paddy is ready to fight and looks way more serious than when I seen him yesterday, the guy behind him in the audience was sizing himself up to Paddy, at which point I’d like to remind people drinking or sober. The average 200 pound guy would get trampled by a 125 pro level fighter. So, hopefully we all accept that.
Shane with Boo’s and Paddy introduced with cheers. This place is starting in with the Oh La oh La. They are off to a good feeling out. Moving forward and landing a little. Paddy siwngs high and Shane lands low. Cheers for Paddy rain in. Paddy gets him down and I wonder, when did everyone else in the world get better at wrestling? Because they did, and it really changes the game. Paddy maintains a good position when Shane tries to spin him off Paddy works with him and takes the back. He’s sinking a body lock in and is looking for a choke. One arm under and it’s pushed off by Shane. The cheers of you’ll never beat the Irish come in right as Paddy gets an arm all the way under. Shane is holding two on one but if he lets go, problems. Paddy lands heels to his thigh because he can. Shane gets out of it but lands right back in it. It’s bad and Shane fights out of it. Auuufffff…. Paddy maintains back control and I can still smell cider beer anyway. Shane looks to stand out and Paddy snatches for that choke again. Digs his hips in and flattens him out. Shane is avoiding some strikes but the position remains domininate for Paddy. Conor watchs from the backstage. Shane finally gets out of it but Paddy is smooth, he looks for an arm, missis and then locks up a full guard to avoid damage in the last 10 seconds. Round 1 over with Paddy winning by a huge margin. The Cheers of Oh La oh La pour from the crowd.
Round 2 and the guys in front of me finally ran out of things to talk about. Huzzah! Shane knows that went bad so he is swinging but leaving himself open. Paddy lands a nasty body shot. Goes for a push kick but Shane shoves him. Shane is slower with his punches and kicks, Paddy lands a good straight down the middle and Shane just eats it like a hungry hungry hippo. Paddy is trying to figure out a way to close the distance and get him down, after a small feeling out he says screw it and dives at him. Shane trying to get back up but Paddy not letting him by holding him down. Shane does a cage walk that leaves him inverted and vunerable, he looks for an armbar and I want to remind people that not everything in sport jiu-jitsu works in MMA. Like the berinbolo. Paddy keeps shane down with hard shoulder pressure and the classy Boston Irish crowd are not sure what chant to yell, so everyone kind of starts their own but it dies off a few seconds in. Paddy holds in side control. Switches to reversese kiskitamae and then when Shane tries to move Paddy steps over for his back. He’s behind him but doesn’t have anything in. Paddy is controriting him and Shane lands his best strike of the fight sorta by accident, a back elbow that lands on Paddy’s face but doesn’t do much other than that.
Round 3. They touch gloves and circle. Paddy lands a nice little front kick but nothing great yet. Paddy is staying out of harms way. Looking for a way to close the distance. But instead they pick at each other. Shane is actually starting to land and the Irish next to me are none to happy about it. Paddy did a running man punched that despite looking awesome was not effective. Paddy gets a body lock and gets behind Shane. Unless Shane got a lot better at grappling in between rounds he is going to lose this fight. Paddy has his back and gets the arm underneath again, Shane defends with his fae and Paddy is being nice not to crank it. Here’s how that works, if I try to choke you and you defend with your face. That’s a you problem. If were friends, I’ll let it slide, I don’t think these two are friends. But Shane gets out and goes two on one again. Paddy tries to flatten him out and to his credit and watching his own blood drip. Shane hangs tough. Most people would break from this pressure for Paddy, the body lock and the pressure but Shane despite losing every round didn’t lose when he could have.
I won’t wait to announce it. Paddy win by decision. And the Irish fans are standing and flag waving waiting for the verdict. Honestly if he gets ripped off here, I’m leaving. I don’t want to die in a riot.
In between rounds! The Swedes are pulled from there seats and asked to pose front and center, and they do. To be pretty must be nice, I’ve been having to rely on my ability to moon walk to make friends. And I can’t moon walk. But, I try and that’s something. Paddy wins by easy decision and old beer spiller next to me is going to get another beer. So, I’ll be showered in it any second. I wait with excitement. Dennis Siver clips play and Rammstein music comes to life. The people behind me announced that’s German. And I believe we just slipped from 17 to 19th in education just like that. WOOOOOOOO FUTURE is bright over here. Also, Du Hast Mich (might be spelled wrong) is You hate me. So, I think that’s about the best song to push Siver with right now.
Lipeng Zhang vs Chris Wade
Back in the media room, my ears needed a break and they have Oreo Brownies. I don’t know how your lives are, but mine is very given free brownies. So, I am getting happily treated. And let me say thins. Zhang already has my heart, why, he looks like he was the guy in Bloodsport and he came out to Eye of the Tiger. I don’t care if he gets nervous and poops himself and the fight is called. He’s got a fan in me.
Right away, balls kick. A deadly weapon.
And there’s a little bit of scaping, a a guy is talking to me but he’s friendly enough and didn’t realize that Jose Aldo is 30 feet from us, so, okay. Another ball kick. Inside low kicks from both fights. Lipeng slips on a high kick and Wade ties up. They have yet to seperate or dramatically improve their positopon. Lipeng could be opening the doors for a country and he is holding on to Wade in the clinch as such. Body Lock makes this look like a Greco Roman fight. Still with the body lock and the ref breaks it up. Lipeng goes for a trip misses and they end back up in the body lock. Lipeng is trying to rough him up along the fence with knee’s but overall, it was a greco roman match.
Round 2 starts with Lipeng blowing snot rockets and wiping them on his shorts. FANTASTIC!
More body locking up top. And More. Wade keeps Lipeng pressed against the cage and they trade who’s where with their back to the cage. The Lipeng throws a knee and swats Wade in the junk again. Extending the round of Greco roman match longer. Lipeng gets a point deducted for the 3rd nugget chop. Both fighters are hesitant and nothing is really landing. Leping is down a point and if he plans on winning he better do something much different. Wade shoots and gets him down lands a few short shots from the top and Leping ties him up.
Well, now I could interview Paddy or write a play by play. Soooo… I wish I could take a poll on that. I’m opting for the writing. The Wade and Leping fight plods on with Wade in control physically and Leping down a point. The round ends and the corner ask Leping. Do you want to win or not. So, Round 2 ends, and yeah… Time. Gone.
Round 3
Jose is here watching American Football. I find that strange. But he is very pleasant and polite with everyone. More cage warfare and Wade capitalizes on a throw and gets him down for a second, more body locking against the fence and I wish I could say more than that, but to eloquently describe the fight I’m watching would be impossible. Wade picks for a leg and gets Leping down, he holds a dominate position but does nothing but holds onto the front head lot. 1 minute down and the world of combat sports breaths a sigh of relief. The decision is coming up. Chris Wade will win the fight but neither are going to win any fans.
John Howard vs Lorenz Larkin
John Howard in the room and doomsday is looking to win this fight. Him and Larkin are really in a this or nothing situation. These guys are swinging and ducking and weaving punches. Howard ties him up against the cage to my a brief stall in the action. Jose continues to watch football. They are back to standing and swining in the center. Larkin is throwing and Howard is moving beautifully out of the way. A jab and the tail end of the cross finally get through for Larkin but they are standing. Larkin lands a jab to the face when Howard throws a kick. I thought it was over, Larkin lands a mean, MEAN punch and drops Howard. He kept throwing until it finally landed and when it did it dropped Howard. A right cross lands and wobbled him. Larkin throw 4 or 5 punches after but none landed, Howard was still stumbling from the right cross. Howard didn’t give up as he grabbed for a single, but Larkin kept hammer fisting down until it was over. Larkin, he is staying UFC material. And rightfully so, he just fought like a beast.
In between that fight and now, Ricardo Lamas who is a beast himself popped his head in. Dude looked dapper but didn’t stay long, him and his suit jacket had elsewhere to be. I’m watching Larkin in the reply and his slow motion is a normal personals regular speed. Incredible job. And Howard for his movement while it worked. Great fight to watch.
Cathal Pendred vs Sean Spencer
Cathal and Sean is next, I just got a odd email so now I am dripping cold sweats and pondering where life leads me next. But, here we are. and I’m with you guys. Cathal is digging for a take down. Strong take down and Sean digs his way back to the fence to sit up. Cathal keeps a good position. Sean grinds his way back up but Cathel holds him with inescapable pressure against the cage. Randy Couture style. Sean circles away as I say that, Sean lands a big overhand punch behind the ear and Cathal goes down. Now Sean is throwing huge punches at a wobbly target until Cathal can tie up and stop what could have been a imminent knock out. Cathel has tasted Sean’s power and he doesn’t seem to want to engage now. He is backing away sloppily and not engaging. Cathel isn’t listening to his corner and it’s not looking good as his tools for aggression are slipping away. Then Sean staggers in and Cathel grabs a body lock and forces the fight down. Sean uses the cage to get back to his feet and they are up. Sean is looking for big shots and the round ends.
round 2 has started and Sean is hoping for a shot and Cathal is looking to not get punched. Sean lands a cross and Cathel is staying out of range and avoiding the fight in the fight, then he suddenly comes forward with an uppercut that pretty much everyine seen coming. Cathel is fighting, but he’s doing it on his heels. Head straight in the air, technique went out the window he’s just in there physcally. He is telegraphing everyhing and it’s a matter of time before Sean finally does something about it. Like you’ve heard, everyone has a game plan until they get punched in the face. Sean finally ducked under a slow jab and landed body shots, now whenever Cathel comes in Sean jabs him. Cathel is stilll throwing one telegrap[hed shot after another, I’d like to see him explode forward again with that top pressure. Instead he throws slow looping telegraph punches and Sean ducks under and catches him hard. Cathel grabs him and stays alive but that’s it. Cathel moved behind him and Slams him down. Cathel looking for a Kimura from North South positon. Oh poop, Cathel has head scissorys as well as a kimura, and Kimaura beast modes out of it.
Between rounds, so you know, head scissors, make a fist and drive for hand in between there ankles, that’s the weakest point of connection. So, with that turn into them immedialtly. In a grappling match, ALWAYS TURN INTO THEM.
Round 3.
Sean is looking for a finish but how, Cathel is in the fight again but is back to throwing one shot at a time. They are in the center of the cage and Sean lands a nice jab. Cathel swings and misses. Sean shoots and Cathel defends wonderfully. Cathel has confidence in this round, it’s a plodding fight, but it’s a fight again. Cathel goes for an ankle pick but doesn’t land it, they swing a few times but nothing is happening. Lorenz Larkin just walked in the room and I feel like hugging him for giving us such a great fight. Cathel lands a nice little upper cut but still avoiding Sean. Sean needs to push the actuon intelligently, not just rush in but move in closer knowing he is the better striker right now. I know that sounds easy for me, but staying on the outside Cathel will simply wait for a….. And as I type it, he tries to snatch a leg. Sean defends and they circle with a few pawing shots. But nothing much in the last minute. Waiting for the decision but I’m going with Sean Spencer by decision, I’m expecting Boo’s and if I’m wrong I’ll change this, but as of now, that’s where I believe it’s heading an I’ll put myself out there as possibly wrong.
HEY. EVERYONE. Guess who was wrong. ME! It was 30-27 for Cathel. And the judges won’t get shot but even Dana White went on air and said, wow. I’m sorry, that was a bad one. So, yes, I was wrong, but even Dana White came and said. Wow. That was bad. So, I recant my statement. Cathel Pendred won. Wowza
IN BETWEEN ROUNDS!
I made another friend from another website. This explains why I’m writing less and less because people are talking to me more and more. HURRAY! Everyone be excited for me. We are waiting for the next fight to start and for me to continue to be the brownie eating champion of Boston. Ya’ll might not like me or my writing as it wears on through the night and please feel free to tell me. But no one, and I mean NO ONE can discount my ability to eat more free brownies than any other fighter, reporter or chunky person. No one. That’s a challenge
Norman Parke vs Gleison Tibau
Tibau is in the ring and he’s a beast as usual. How he makes weight, no one knows. It’s like an Anthony Johnson type weight cut. Normal is coming to the ring and I’m interested to see if Normal who looks cold walking in can keep the pace fast against someone like Tibau who is known for slowing things down to his game. He sucks people in and we will see if he can do it here.
Round 1.
When you see this fight. Just look at the size of Tibau in the photo compared to Norman. Huge.
Normal looks ready and Tibau adjust his cup not giving a shit that he’s on TV. Norman looks fast, and throws a spinning kick that lands on the inside of Tibau’s leg. Normal ties up and Tibau can’t do anything to the Jude Black Belt so they seperate. Normal staying on the outside. Hands up and moving in circles. Tibau over commits on a punch but Norman does nothing with the small opening. Feeling out and light gloves taps. Tibua works in again and again with a jab jab cross combination. Nomans hands are fast but he’s to far away to land anything, Tibua catches him with a grazing shot as Norman stops moving as much. Tibau looking for spinning attacks, so that’s keepoing things interesting. Cathel just walked in, he doesn’t look hurt at all, but I want to know if he knows he shouldn’t have won that fight. The fighters still feel each other out and pick shots but nothing significant as they circle, throw a punch circle out. Norman clinches and gets a knee for it. And another. Tibau reaches for a legs but nothing happens and they are circling around. Round 1 is done and there is no clear winner as of now. Both look strong and relaxed.
Round 2.
The coach of Tibau who is a sweet heart and could have punched me for getting info wrong in an interview yesterday is in Tibau’s corner, counting aloud for him to relax and recompose. They are back to the center. HARD kick for Tibau. First hard strike as both deal with each others games but not ready to commit as neither wants to make a mistake. Tibua is starting to make tiny sloppy mistakes. Nothing serious, but after he throws he isn’t recomposing as fast. If Norman commited maybe he can catch him, maybe. Norman looks for the take down and it’s stuffed. Knee for Norman from clinch. They separate. Tibau dives for a takedown and he gets it, he is powering Norman against the cage but Norman uses the cage to get up. Reverses position and grabs a leg. Knee inside for Norman lands on the leg. Tibau switches position and grabs for a takedown, Norman has his but against the fence and Tibau is wasting energy, then he side steps and charges forward gets Norman down and Norman stands right back up. They are working for something but Tibau is sucking Norman into his world. I’m not saying he is winning, but he is sucking him into a slower power game when he should be working a faster aggressive game. Round is over and there is no clear winner yet.
Round 3.
Norman is up and knowing he has to do something to create a distance between him and Tibau if not he will have to pull a Cathel and hope for luck of the Irish to win a decision. Again, he isn’t losing, but he also isn’t winning. They are standing on the outside and Norman dives for a take down, nothing of it, but he backs away throwing a high kick. Blocked. They both swing heavy and both duck under the same way. Lot of hesitation from the fighters. Clinch by Tibau and a missed knee. They swing at each other and Norman lands a cross on the jaw of Tibau, it doesn’t shake him but at least it landed clean. Against the cage again Norman with Tibau. 2:30 left and they circle, Norman starting to back Tibau away and follow him, if he wants to win he needs to pick it up and hope to break Tibau with the pace. He doesn’t though and it’s still slow and picking. Tibau goes for a front head lock/guillotine and gets nothing. Norman holding Tibau against the cage and they throw one punch or kick at a time missing in the center. 1 minute to go and Tibau at least throws a 2 punch combination. A scramble in the center results in nothing. They are both throwing and missing. Tibau at least pushing a little and Norman goes for a throew, it doesn’t work and Tibau stands behind him but Noman just breaks grip and gets away. The final seconds come and go and the crowd is booing. We shall see if the luck of the Irish carries this but honestly, it wasn’t a huge fight and the reply showed probably the one shot that landed.
Both fighters stand in the ring and drink water with more desire to finish the bottle than to finish the fight. They tried and completely neutrilized each other, all the grappling stale mated and all the striking stale mated. Norman went for a Judo throw and missed but outside of that, very little risk and very little reward.
Tibua – Park -Tibua
40th win for Tibua. Apparently thats the 3rd most wins in the UFC history.
Uriah Hall vs Ron Stallings
Round 1. Ron Stallings is walking to the ring with the much disliked Lloyd Irving. And I mean, much much much much disliked. In the BJJ community people left his team and in general stay far away from the man. I’m not trashing him, just stating facts here.
Hall is walking to the ring relaxed and singing James Brown. And a relaxed Hall is a tough tough cookie.
My keys to victory here, are simple. Pressure, pressure, pressure and Ron can win. If he stays on the outside there’s a chance he just gets picked apart.
Round 1.
Hall instantly initiates with a flying knee. It misses but it lets people know what we are in for. Hall is standing upright but similar to Machida. Upright but agile. Holy cat fish fall just threw a wonderful 2 kick combo that was a thing of beauty. It was ducked, but that’s a thing of beauty. Hall is picking apart and Ron is standing to far away. He isn’t letting go but just walking towards a Hall that’s throwing. Finally Ron throws a hard hard leg kick. And that might be the plan, take his legs slowly. Hall is still going for the flashy. Hall picking apart but Ron gets close and lands a punch. Ron looks for a body shot. Ron keeps walking towards him and Hall tags him and drops him with a right. Ron recomposes to guard but he’s still in a bad spot. Hall lets him stand but he does so with a hurt eye. Ron has a swollen gash over his left eye. And the fight looks at the eye and stops the fight. Hall doesn’t look thrilled because he was hoping for a thrilling end, but I’m looking at Ron Stallings eye, he was looking good but Hall made his eye by a giant gash above the left eye. Just a little to the left of the center and the gash ends the night for Ron. Bummer, looked good, but that would have poured into his eye. It was the same type of cut Diego Sanchez had, that gash with meat, although not as large or deep but I wanted to give you and idea.
Hall wins the fight by a cut. But he looked fantastic along the way.
IN BETWEEN ROUNDS!
An advertisement that was probably mandatory for Jon Jones on his say no to drugs campaign that he now has to do. So, expect that interview to come. Hope he is clean and better, but overall he has a good head on his shoulders but lets face it, he’s a young athlete who has tons of attention on him and tons of obligations, so am completely surprised, ehhhh, he does play the Jesus card, and I’ve met him once and he was a wonderful guy. Is he a coke head, no, is he living in a different world than us where he can’t even walk outside without someone bothering him. Yes. So, take a slight step back on the guy I think.
ALSO!!!! Uriah Hall, I met him yesterday and he struck me as highly intelligent, within ten seconds I thought, oh crap, he’s way smarter than I originally thought and now I have to play catch up with questions that I don’t just wing at him. And after his fight he took to the ring and told American’s, we need to stop fighting each other. This is in regards to the recent protest we’ve had over here and the backlash from that. And I want to say, thank you for that. You can destroy your own career going out and saying something that people don’t think is popular and it’s very popular to say how evil this group or that group is, so for him to walk that line in the middle and just say, guy’s, we’re better than that. That’s wonderful. (sorry, not MMA related, but it happened in an MMA ring so I can write it)
Benson Henderson vs Donald Cerrone
Round 1
The best line leading up to this fight was this.
”Cowboy, some people say Benson Henderson has your number. What do you have to say to that?”
”I changed my number.” – If Cowboy would have said that and then either put on his Cowboy hat and pulled it down over his eyes or put on a pair of dark sunglasses and walked away. I’d be buying a T-shirt right now. I’d wear it everywhere. Unfortunately, Cowboy didn’t seize that opportunity. And I am not buying a t-shirt because of it, but everyone just imagine it for a moment please.
”I changed my number” *Puts on shades. BAM!
Round 1.
Cowboy comes out second and you have to wonder if that does anything to Henderson who has beat him twice. The champ always comes out second. The challenger has to wait there. So, we will see if that does anything to change how these went in the last. Henderson is such a nice intelligent guy but once those gloves come on, door shuts and bell rings his eye brows furl down and he becomes another person. Watch for it. Same with Cowboy.
They touch gloves and are in the center. Cowboy is going after it, Henderson reaches in with a punch and Cowboy punches him for it. Again, Henderson over commits and Cowboy with great reflexes catches him. Staying in the center and Cowboy continues to throw in pairs and lands great counter shots. Henderson finally lands after leaping in with a punch. Big kick and miss for Henderson. They trade front leg kicks Henderson first then Cowboy. Tentative strikes and Henderson lands to the body. Henderson opens up and misses, and Cowboy misses a counter. Henderson is kicking at the body and they are landing. Well, one did, but it worked. Cowboy leaps in with a left hook and ducks under a Henderson counter. Front picking kicks for Henderson, the mean ones that Jones throws that just blew out Miguel Torres knee (don’t watch if your squemish) 1 minute left and they continue to stay upright and land on each other. Cowboy using his legs nicely, Cowboy lands a good partially blocked kicked to the body of Henderson. 10 seconds. They touch gloves at the end of the round and head to their corners.
Round 3
Benson and Cowboy run to the center and hug. They are in what, their 40th minute of octagon time together. Benson is still mixing it up a little and Cowboy is starting to slow down just a tiny bit. But as I say that he charges in and throws a four punch combo, nothing getting in but grazing. Benson continues to land to the stomach and thing with punches. Benson goes high but Cowboy takes it and catches it. 3 minutes and Cowboy might or might not have been affected by that kick but he’s not showing it. Benson mixes a knee in that lands as Cowboy ducks into it. Henderson starting to pull away a little. Benson misses a kick and Cowboy rushes him to the ground and Benson gets right back up. Benson is still pulling ahead and starting to sneak in his more varied attacks. 1 minute. They are landing a little and Benson looks for a flying knee. 30 seconds and Henderson is looking relaxed with flowing hair and they trade hard power kicks. Cowboy jumps at him and lands while swinging. Henderson more than likely won, but it could go either way and should be kinda close but I’m edging towards Henderson.
Cowboy won by decision. Whether everyone believes it or not, it could have went either way.
IN BETWEEN ROUNDS! Benson Henderson came out saying Boston Strong. He will rebuild. The same way the city came together after the bombings. So, thanks for that. I ran a marathon the week after that bombing that had a giant heart on it that said FOR BOSTON, on the back, it said we have nothing to fear but Fear itself. So, hearing people make reference to something like that, that affected lives, it’s nice.
Conor McGregor vs Denis Siver
And the fight is going to start… sometime, they are in the cage now. Announcing happening and Herb Dean, Herb Dean’ing
Conor tries to touch gloves, Dennis doesn’t do it and the first fight thrown is the middle finger. Conor creating distance and Dennis moving in and out well but Conor is picking him apart. They excange front leg kicks. Conor throws a fancy kick that is ducked under. Conor still throwing spinning kicks and Dnnis is staying in there. Siver lands a kick to the body and a tap to the face. Conor lands a left hand to the face and then another. Siver throws to punches and then throws a teep to stop Conor for foming in. Conor claps and get the crowd going and another spinning kick that lands. Conor throws a kick that’s block abut then lands a straight left. Conor is staying calm and then attacking like a cobra. Silly reference but it is what it is. Siver is hanging in there byt the occasional straight left gets through. Then a punch combination. Conor is starting to really dinstance himself. Siver walks into a kicks and eats it. Siver misses a take down. Siver is starting to get tee’d off on, lands a double and then they seperate. Siver is really starting to miss shots and get hit. He’s still in there and swinging and the last ten seconds of the road are some of the most intense you’ll see. Conor swinging and landing everything, Siver covers and you wonder if Conor will land something and end it, then Siver backs him up with a punch but Conor keeps punching and kicking away.
Round 2.
Conor is still picking Siver apart landing punching and kicks then Conor drops him with a clean left hand that was landing all night. Drops Siver, But it’s not done. Conor ground and pounds for a bit and while it’s a soft stop because Siver was still in there, he was only going to take no damage as he covers up from the elbows that were coming down. For a second Siver broke, hung in there and while he was too tough to say you won, the ref protected him from damage.
Conor runs into the audience after his victory and tries to scream at Jose. Jose stands and smiles and security and Conor’s sisters (yes they are here) get in between them. Jose just smiles as the crowd and Conor taunt him. I’m not making claims to who wins and who doesn’t, but people forget, Jose Aldo is a very dangerous man.
That’s how it ends here guys, thanks for reading 20 pages of dialogue.
Jose comes to the ring. Conor has some good trash talk saying I want Jose to spit shine the belt.
They ask Jose how he feels, and he says he just laughs at him.
They says Jose is looking forward to fighting him.
They ask if he’s impressed.
Answer. No. His reasoning isn’t great as he didn’t call the victory correctly.
Does this fight excite you?
It’ll make me better to fight him.
So, again. The night ends. Everyone take care, stay safe and be positive.
