Tony Ferguson satt och samtalade med Ariel Helwani på kvällens The MMA Hour och där pratade de om hur resten av Fergusons år kommer att se ut och han skickar en hälsning till sina fans.
Det blev många besvikna miner när nyheten att Tony Ferguson (20-4) blivit tvungen att dra sig ur matchen mot Khabib Nurmagomedov (22-0) på UFC on Fox 19. Men Ferguson håller modet uppe. Enligt honom själv så är han i mycket gott skick och att han inte behöver så lång tid på sig att komma tillbaka.

”Two to four weeks is what they said, the said four weeks probably max. And that’s why I said that May 29 would probably be perfect. If i did that it would have given me four to five to train including fight week. And I’m already in shape, dude, I’m in great shape. I was close to weight, I was fighting to make 170 [lbs.] for the fight, eating as much as I could and staying hydrated.”
Han är fortfarande förberedd för att fightas och han anser att han är en kämpe som inte ger upp på grund av en motgång.
”Dude, I was prepared for this. I still am. I’m not gonna get unprepared and start eating shit and start feeling sorry for myself because that’s not who I am. I’m a champion dude and a lot of people just don’t know it and that’s fine with me.”
Har planer på hur han ska gå vidare och han kan tänka sig en titelfight. Två av de han har ögonen på är Eddie Alvarez (27-4) och mästaren Rafael dos Anjos (25-7).
”I’m not trying to take an easy road anywhere. RDA att the UFC 200, that would be great. I would not disappoint, honestly. Alvarez, possibly Chicago in July, that would be my second. But you have Alvarez who is waiting for the belt. His last fight he looked like shit, his condition looked like crap. But nothing’s been confirmed but I’m excited to have anybody in the top five, including a title fight and not having to wait. This injury is unfortunate but it was out of my control.”
Ferguson avslutar med en hälsning till sina fans.
”To all my fans: I will be back, I will be better and just wait, you guys haven’t seen nothing yet.”
