Cristiane ”Cyborg” Justino såg på när UFCs nya fjäderviktsmästarinna kröntes. Hon vill möta Germaine de Randamie härnäst men om ”The Iron Lady” blir borta på grund av operation kan hon tänka sig Invicta FCs interrimmästarinna Megan Anderson.
När UFC öppnade upp sin fjäderviktsdivision för kvinnor var det med Cristiane ”Cyborg” Justino (17–1-1 NC) i tankarna. Hon testade dock positivt för ett vätskedrivande medel och har sedan dess varit avstängd och borta från all tävlan.

UFCs president Dana White har dock sagt att det ser ut som att vi kommer att få se ”Cyborg” tidigare än förväntat då hon just nu håller på att få sitt fall närmare granskat.
Skulle hon återvända är en match mot fjäderviktsmästarinnan Germaine de Randamie (7-3) ett givet möte men ”The Iron Lady” sade efter helgens vinst att hon först tänker operera sin hand och efter det får se vad som händer.

ESPNs intervju med Cyborg
MMA-reportern Brett Okamoto intervjuade Cyborg efter helgens UFC-gala och frågade henne bland annat om det var bitterljuvt att se på när UFC fick sin första fjäderviktsmästarinna:
”No, I don’t think so. Everything is God’s plan. My first opportunity in the UFC was to cut to 140 pounds. This was too tough for me, but by me going through that, it opened the door for a 145-pound division. I didn’t fight tonight and this is God’s plan. It doesn’t bother me because I prefer to fight healthy. I want the best Cyborg in the cage and I really needed time off after that last weight cut. I’m happy they made this 145-pound division. A lot of girls have a tough time making the lower weight. They suffer to do it. It’s more of a victory for me to see a 145-pound division than it would have been to fight in this main event.”
Hon sade även att hon är intresserad av att hålla sig aktiv även om en fight mot De Randamie inte blir av. En person som hon skulle vilja se i UFC är den regerande Invicta FC interrimmästarinnan i fjädervikt Megan Anderson (8-2).
”I am still the champion of Invicta FC. Maybe I can fight Megan Anderson in my next fight. She has an interim title. I’m the champion. If this other girl is injured, I like making good fights for my fans. I think the UFC could bring [Anderson] in and make me fight her next, because I don’t see any other contenders. I was supposed to fight the winner of tonight. There’s no one else.”
Anderson har just nu fyra raka segrar och vann senast interrimbältet i fjädervikt då hon avslutade Charmaine Tweet (9-6) via TKO.
