Miesha Tate säger i en intervju att hon möter tuffare motstånd än mästarinnan Ronda Rousey och att hon förlorat sitt förtroende för UFC.
Efter att Miesha Tate besegrade Jessica Eye på UFC on FOX 16 i juli gjorde hon sig förtjänt av en tredje titelchans mot mästarinnan Ronda Rousey. Som känt gick titelchansen istället till Holly Holm och Tate var planerad att möta Amanda Nunes. Men i en intervju med GN1 TV berättar Tate att hon inte kommer att möta Nunes eftersom hon tröttnat på att möta bättre fighters än Rousey trots att hon inte är mästarinna:
She [Nunes] never was (my next opponent). I am very frustrated with the UFC. I am not in a position where I feel like I need to be pushed around. Like, ‘you take this fight, you take that fight’. It makes no sense to me. I am not the champion, yet I am fighting all the number-one contenders. And Nunes is ranked number four in the world, Holm number eight in the world. What is wrong with that picture? I am not the champion, yet I am fighting better girls than the champion is fighting — and I am not getting paid what the champion’s getting paid. That is the champion’s job to fight the best girls in the world. So when I am the champion, then we will talk.
Tate står i dagsläget utan motståndare och vem och när hon kommer att kliva in i oktagonen mot nästa gång är inte känt. Tate fortsätter intervjun med att berätta hur hon känner sig mobbad av UFC och att hon inte längre litar på organisationen:
I don’t know. I am in a very awkward stage in my career right now, where I don’t know what is the best next step for me, but I know that I am not gonna be pushed around by anybody. More things have to be contractually agreed upon, instead of verbally. That’s what happens when you can’t come to a verbal trust point. I’m gonna have to have things written down from now on.
