Joe Warren (12-4) tar sig an L.C Davis (23-6) på Bellator 143 och är redo för att jobba sig till ännu en titelchans.
Warren fyller 39 år om bara några veckor, men han känner sig inte gammal.

”I’m old, right?” frågade Warren MMAFighting.com. ”I don’t feel old. The only time I even know my age is when writers bring it up before my fights.”
Warren tycker att han har några år kvar inom sporten, men att han inte vill hålla på med MMA för alltid.
”I feel like I’ve got a few more good years in me,”sa Warren. ”I don’t want to do this forever, but I believe I’ve paced myself well and I can still compete at a high level.”
Warren förlorade sin bantamviktstitel mot Marcus Galvao (17-6-1) då domaren John McCarthy bröt matchen efter att Warren verbalt klappade till en kneebar och Warren protesterade omedelbart McCarthys beslut att stoppa matchen, men förstod att McCarthy agerade rätt efter att Warren lugnade ner sig och såg om matchen hemma.
”When you’re in the heat of the moment, you’re in that situation, everything you’ve trained for just got taken away from you in the blink of an eye, and you react in the moment,” sa Warren. ”You’re not really thinking things through rationally. Then when I got home and I had cooled off and I rewatched the fight, I knew right away I was wrong. It’s just one of those things. I let Big John know right away that I was wrong, and I think he understood it was just an emotional moment.”
Förlusten sved för Warren, men viljan att fortsätta slåss kom tillbaka och det är därför Warren fortsätter att gå matcher.
”It sucked, it sucked to have that taken away,” sa Warren. ”I sulked for a little while, but the desire comes back and then you can’t wait to be back in the gym. If that fire ever goes away, that’s when its time to step away, but it’s still there.”
Det var först tänkt att Warren skulle gå match mot Galvao, vilket skulle ha blivit deras tredje möte, men Galvao skadade sig och Warren möter nu istället Davis.
”I didn’t hesitate to take the fight,”sa Warren. ”Of course I want the title shot, but I also want to stay busy, I want to get paid. I’d rather stay active than sit out at this point.”
”This isn’t a fight to take lightly,”sa Warren. ”Doesn’t matter if he’s a star to the fans or not. If you really know MMA, you know he’s a guy who’s been around forever, a guy who’s seen and done it all. He can wrestle, he comes from a wrestling background. I know I’m going to beat him, but I have to respect him.”
