Många fascineras av Conor McGregors ständiga upptåg, inte minst Miesha Tate efter att ha delat bord med irländaren under den första presskonferensen inför UFC 197.
Innan Conor McGregor (19-2) och Rafael dos Anjos (25-7) möts i oktagonen den femte mars gör Holly Holm (10-0) och Miesha Tate (17-5) upp om bantamviktsbältet. Under den första presskonferensen inför supergalan satt Tate bredvid McGregor och häpnade över irländarens mentala krigföring mot lättviktsmästaren och sträckte sig under The MMA Hour så långt som att kalla McGregor för ett geni. På sitt eget sätt såklart.
”It’s kind of mind blowing, honestly. I have never sat next to Conor at a press conference. I’ve heard his interviews and things like that, but I’ve never sat next to him and really just listened to him do his full gamut of mental warfare, and it was honestly pretty impressive. I don’t know where this guy gets it from but I mean he is really in his own right a genius.”
Vid flertalet tillfällen fick Tate stoppa sig själv från att skratta åt McGregors kvicka och ofta olämpliga humor.
”It was just crazy to watch it unfold. It was just kind of jaw-dropping, and there were definitely times where I kind of caught myself laughing, and I was like, oh my gosh, I should not be laughing at this right now. But he is really funny, and he’s just very witty. He’s a very intelligent man.”
