UFC Fight Night 34 har förlorat en deltagare i Hacran Dias, som behöver operera båda händerna.
Hacran Dias (21-2-1) drar sig ur sin planerade match mot nykomlingen Tatsuya Kawajiri (32-7-2), som skulle ägt rum på UFC Fight Night 34. Detta på grund av handskador
”I fought my last couple fights with both hands hurt, and I couldn’t even train anymore,” berättade Dias för MMAFighting.com. ”I couldn’t close or open my hands, couldn’t hit the bag or pads, and had no grip, so I decided to have this surgery now. I was training, but the pain was going on and off. It only kept worse. I went to the doctor and he told me I should do the surgery.”
Dias kommer alltså undergå operation på båda händerna, tidpunkt för detta är dock inte känt. Det är inte första gången brasilianaren drar sig ur en match på grund av skada, han missade ett planerat möte med Chad Mendes (15-1) förra året, då på grund av en axelskada. Fjäderviktaren inser också vilken chans han missar i och med den inställda matchen.
”It was a good chance for me because Kawajiri is a star in Japan,” sa han. ”That’s the second time I have to pull out of a good fight and it makes me sad. The first time was Chad Mendes, when I hurt my shoulder, and now Kawajiri.
Dias har tidigare i karriären fått ställa in en match som skulle ha gåtts på UFC Fight Night 34, mot Rodrigo Damm (11-6), efter att denna drog sig ur på grund av hälsoproblem. Brasilianaren hoppas nu på att något liknande inte händer igen.
”I was set to fight Rodrigo Damm and then he pulled off the fight with health problems, and now I was going to fight Kawajiri, so I’m going to have this surgery so I won’t have any problems in the future.”
UFC Fight Night 34 hålls den 4 januari, i Marina Bay, Singapore.
