Efter att ha mött två grapplers är nu den forna titelutmanaren intresserad av någon som vill hålla matchen på fötterna.
Efter att ha inlett UFC-karriären med två raka förluster har nu Miesha ”Cup Cake” Tate (15-5) lyckats rada upp två raka vinster. De segrarna kom dock via domslut mot två grapplers, vars taktik gick ut på att få ner den forna Strikeforcemästarinnan.
I en intervju med AskMen kunde Tate berätta om sitt intresse för en viss potentiell motståndare; brasilianskan Bethe ”Pitbull” Correia (9-0), som är obesegrad och senast knockade Shayna Baszler sist hon var aktuell. Brasilianskan är en tuff fighter som oftast rör sig framåt, och det är precis den inställningen Tate uppskattar hos Correia.
”I really want to fight Bethe Correia. She’s doing really well and she’s not afraid to engage in a fight. She’s undefeated and she has an exciting style of fighting. My last two opponents that I beat just wanted to grab a hold of me and take me to the ground. They did not want to throw punches with me at all. It’s not as fun for me. I like people that want to stand up and fight. I feel like Correia is well rounded and we could win fight of the night. It’s hard to win fight of the night when one of the two people in the ring just want to hold on to you or lay on you. I want to fight someone that isn’t afraid to stand up with me. Let’s give the fans what they want to see and throw punches until someone goes down.”
Correia har vunnit tre raka matcher i UFC och är rankad på åttonde plats i UFCs kvinnliga bantamviktsdivision. Tate har besegrat både Liz Carmouche samt Rin Nakai och är rankad på andraplats i divisionen.
