Så en direkt returmatch mellan Alexander Gustafsson och Jon Jones verkar numera skrotad, rapporterar ESPN inatt. Istället förväntas Jones att försvara sin titel mot Glover Teixeira härnäst, och för Gustafssons del så kommer han att hålla i huvudeventet i nästa UFC-gala i Sverige mot en ännu okänd motståndare.
”That’s what the champ wants,” berättade White till ESPN. ”We’ll probably have that fight on the Super Bowl card in New Jersey. Around the same time of the Jones-Teixeira fight, Gustafsson will fight in Sweden. I don’t have an official date for that yet.”
RETURMATCH FÅR VÄNTA
Så det ser ut som att Gustafsson kommer att få vänta på returmatchen mot Jones, och istället hålla sig här hemma i Sverige. Men om både Gustafsson och Jones nu vinner sina kommande matcher så kommer vi att bli bjudna på en Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson II.
”I’m going to fight Glover and I will answer all the critics about the Gustafsson fight,” säger Jones. ”I will fight Gustafsson after I fight Glover. I won the fight but I look at it as a blemish on my record because some people think I didn’t. I promise you, he will be next.”
