“As you guys know, I was away for a long time,” berättade Bahadurzada för MMAjunkie Radio. “I’ve been a victim of obstacles and I wasn’t healthy at all. Finally, I got my health together and got myself together and I came hard. I did something to Brandon Thatch that UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson couldn’t do. I was really happy with my performance.”
“After my last loss in December 2013, I was badly injured three weeks before the fight. Both of my shoulders were badly injured. I went to Holland after the fight. I always go to Holland, it’s like a second home. I went to see friends and family. There, my shoulders were hurting really bad. I thought maybe they were bruised because of the hard training. I can take a lot of pain – sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s bad. That time it was bad.
“…Both biceps tendons on both sides and both labrums were detached. My shoulders were loose, there was no power in either arm. I had spaghetti arms. I couldn’t load my punches. I couldn’t put any kind of force because my shoulders were completely destroyed.”
